Update: Guerrilla Games, the creator of the Horizon series, released a tribute to actor Lance Reddick following the news of his passing earlier this week. In the post, he thanks the star for bringing Silence to life and goes on to praise him for his “generous warmth and inimitable presence.” The post adds that he had a “profound impact, not only as part of our roster, but also in our community.”
Bungie has already released a tribute as Reddick played Commander Zavala in the Destiny games. “Lance Reddick was an iconic character on screen, in Destiny and, most importantly, in person,” the post reads.
Original article: Iconic actor Lance Reddick, best known for his roles in the HBO series The Wire and the John Wick movie franchise, has passed away. That’s according to TMZ, which says the star’s body was found at his Studio City home this morning.
The 60-year-old may have made a name for himself in television and film, but has also starred in a slew of massive video game franchises, including the PlayStation exclusives Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West, as well as Destiny 2. Just last year, he portrayed Albert Wesker in Netflix’s reimagining of Resident Evil.
Reddick will almost certainly reprise his role as Sylens next month in the Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores expansion, as he was seen doing motion capture work in a post deleted on Instagram late last year.
Most recently this week he was doing press for the latest John Wick movie and he was due to appear on The Kelly Clarkson Show in the coming days. Our thoughts go to his family and friends.
